Prentiss Hubb can fill it up
We expected Prentiss Hubb to be the man for the Irish this season, leading the team on both sides of the ball from his point guard spot. On Tuesday, he proved that he could not only handle the rock and distribute to his teammates, finishing with a team-high six assists, but he also showed he can fill it up with the best of them.
Hubb made big shot after big shot for the Irish in the game, scoring a career-high 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor. He attacked the basket, going a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line, while also finding his stroke from the outside, connecting on five three-pointers as well.
Fellow guards Cormac Ryan and Dane Goodwin combined for 31 points as well, with Laszewski finishing with double-digits in points, giving the Irish four players in double-figures. For Hubb, this is a season where there will be a lot of pressure on him to lead this team, especially against the best of competition, and he certainly stepped up on Tuesday night.
