Notre Dame Men’s Basketball at Kentucky: 3 things we learned

Irish need to be better against Duke

We have heard all the talk of the Duke Blue Devils being in a down year, and how head coach Mike Krzyzewski has changed his tune in terms of playing college basketball during the pandemic, but this is still Duke. Coach K is going to have his team ready to roll on Wednesday against the Irish and will be looking to invade Purcell Pavilion and pick up his first ACC win of the season.

Duke struggled mightily their last time out, getting their doors blown off by Illinois, so you know the practice has been less than pleasant for the Blue Devils. Luckily for the Irish, they will get Duke at home, and coming off a stellar victory against Kentucky, so this is a game that could go either way on Wednesday.

If the Irish are to come away with the victory against the No. 10 team in the country, they are going to have to put together two complete halves of basketball. If they let their guard down against Duke the way they did against Kentucky on Saturday, the Blue Devils have the talent to erase any deficit, and that would be crushing to an Irish team that plays with a lot of passion, and has the players to make a run towards an NCAA tournament spot in 2020-21.
