Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Ranking the Class of 2021
14. Michell Evans – Tight End – Wadsworth (Wadsworth, OH)
High: 13 – Low: 15
Mitchell Evans, similar to Alt, is still developing into the position that he will play at the next level. In high school, Evans plays everywhere, including quarterback, while also lining up at the tight end. When he does play tight end, Evans possesses soft hands that snatch the ball away from his body. As he picks up the position and reshapes his body, Evans should become another great Notre Dame tight end in a long storied tradition at the position.
13. Caleb Johnson – Offensive Tackle – Trinity Catholic (Ocala, FL)
High: 10 – Low: 15
Johnson flipped his commitment from Auburn to Notre Dame on Nov. 19. According to the 247Sports Composite, Johnson ranks as the 324th player in the 2021 class. He held 36 offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, and Miami (FL), and is best suited for right tackle in South Bend. He fits well with Notre Dame’s desire to run the ball as much as possible.
12. Cane Berrong – Tight End – Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
High: 9 – Low: 14
Berrong committed to Notre Dame in June 2019 and held 30 offers including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State. According to the 247Sports Composite, Berrong ranks as the 225 prospect and eighth tight end in the 2021 class. He is an excellent pass-catching tight end prospect that fits well with Notre Dame’s two-tight end sets.
11. Chance Tucker – Cornerback – Crespi (Encino, CA)
High: 5 – Low: 17
Chance Tucker is perhaps the most underrated recruit in this year’s class. He ranks as the 565th prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, and he held scholarship offers from 15 schools, including Washington, which develops defensive backs at a high level. His length, technique, and ability to play the ball in the air make him a great cornerback prospect for the collegiate level.
