Notre Dame Football: 3 keys to victory against Clemson
By Brad Weiss
Notre Dame football needs a steady dose of Kyren Williams
For all the talk surrounding Etienne and Javonte Williams in terms of the best running back in the ACC, it has been Kyren Williams who has outplayed everyone this season. Coming into the season with only four carries to his credit, the redshirt freshman has been the feature back all season long, starting with a 100-yard effort against Duke in the opener.
Since then, he has shown he can be at his best in the biggest of games, scoring three touchdowns against No. 1 Clemson back in November. He has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season, and is getting the job done not only on the ground, but is a capable passer, and an elite blocker for Ian Book.
On Saturday, the Irish need to pound the rock with Williams, which will not only help them move the ball down the field but also keep Trevor Lawrence and this Clemson offense off of it. The Irish have the talent on both sides of the ball to win this one, and despite all the hype around Etienne, they have the best running back as well.
