The ACC announced the players who made First-Team All-ACC in football this fall, and the Notre Dame football team was well-represented.

The Notre Dame football team joined the ACC due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and needless to say, they had great success in 2020. Not only did they run through a perfect regular season, beating the then-No. 1 Clemson Tigers in November, but they also were able to punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff.

As the team prepares to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl, the school got some exciting news on Monday. The ACC named their First and Second-Team All-ACC players, and the Irish were all over it.

In total, the Irish had five players named First-Team, including more than half their offensive line, to go along with star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who won the Butkus Award as well and punishing safety Kyle Hamilton.

Offensive line lands three on the first-team

Three members of the Irish offensive line, widely regarded as one of the best in college football, were named First Team. Among them was left tackle Liam Eichenberg, who has a chance to be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Guards Aaron Banks and Tommy Kraemer were also named First-Team, as they were consistently dominant all year long.

Against Alabama, the Irish are going to need the offensive line to play a lot better than they did against Clemson, where Ian Book ran for his life all game long. They have the talent to do just that but will be facing an elite defense once again.

Four players were also named Second-Team All-ACC, including two more members of the Irish offensive line in center Jarrett Patterson and offensive tackle Robert Hainsey. Notre Dame breakout running back Kyren Williams was also named Second-Team, and representing the defensive side of the ball was cornerback Nick McCloud.

We here at Slap the Sign would like to congratulate all the Student-Athletes and wish them luck in the Sugar Bowl.
