Ian Book Will Have a Career Day

His last time in the College Football Playoff, Ian Book spent the game getting harassed by the dominant Clemson defensive line. The last time he played in any game, in the ACC Championship Game against Clemson, Book faced similar issues that were worsened by a bad day from the wide receivers.

Now, at the end of an up and down season for Book, he’ll need to have a career day to keep his time at Notre Dame alive. Whether or not he keeps his college career going is a mystery, but Book will have a career-day against Alabama.

The numbers won’t be elite, as all signs are pointing towards Notre Dame taking a ball-control approach to keep the Alabama offense off the field, but his play and production will be elite. Alabama has struggled defensively this season, so look for Book to consistently find and hit open receivers, even if most of the game is played underneath and without help from big plays.

Add in his ability to create on the ground, and Book should be able to give Alabama fits defensively. However, even with an elite performance, it may not be enough to win,
