The Notre Dame football team faces the Alabama Crimson Tide on Jan. 1, 2021, at 4 p.m. inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Notre Dame football is a 19.5-point underdog to powerhouse Alabama in the Rose Bowl, which is being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Frankly, the Irish deserve to be major underdogs against the Crimson Tide, as they are coming off a poor performance against Clemson in the ACC Championship game.

Alabama is also that good, with the Crimson Tide featuring three serious Heisman contenders on the offensive side of the football.

The only people who believe Notre Dame can beat Nick Saban and his empire of football robots currently reside inside the Gugliemino Athletics Complex. The entire Irish fan base is dreading what might happen on Jan. 1.

Making the College Football Playoff is important for the program. During the seven years of the College Football Playoff, only five teams made the playoff more than once. Overall, 11 teams have appeared in the tournament, and it has been won by four teams: Alabama, Clemson, LSU, and Ohio State.

Oklahoma has lost all four of their appearances by an average margin of 18 points. If someone Twitter troll rags on the Irish losing big again, there is only a 3.8% chance his team has fared any better in the College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame’s defeat seems likely, but, this is why they play the games. Here are 5 reasons the Fighting Irish will defeat the Crimson Tide and advance to the National Championship game.
