The Notre Dame football team is losing a lot of veteran talent via the transfer portal this offseason, but luckily, they have solid recruits coming in.

It has been a wild few days for the Notre Dame football program, as we have seen a bunch of players leaving via the transfer portal. Of course, the big news on Monday was the fact that former Wisconsin starting quarterback Jack Coan would be joining the Irish, but Tuesday, guys started dropping out of the program like flies.

The program is already losing big-time talent, as Ade Ogundeji, Aaron Banks, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and Ian Book are all heading to the 2021 NFL Draft. Those are players we figured would be leaving, but the transfer portal has caused a lot of guys, especially on defense to leave the Irish program.

Some were expected to fight for a starting spot next season, as there is a bunch of veteran talent leaving, and some were supposed to be depth guys. The linebacker group and cornerback group were affected the most early this week, as the program lost two linebackers and two cornerbacks, guys who will have to be replaced by the younger talent this season.

Luckily for the Irish, they brought in the No. 9-ranked recruiting class in the country, and many of them will be expected to start right away.
