During the 2020 college football season, Notre Dame football had an elite star playing the linebacker position. Since arriving in South Bend, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has rounded into one of the more complete defensive players in the country, and that should land him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

There are plenty of linebacker-starved teams in the NFL, and not only is JOK an elite tackler, but he is also someone whose game fits perfectly at the next level. He can play sideline-to-sideline, is incredibly smart, and is also solid coverage, three things you need to play three downs in the NFL.

As we inch closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, which is slated to start at the end of April, there are so many mock drafts to look at. This week, one was put out that puts JOK in a position to not only start, but dominate right away, and we dive into that one here.

Notre Dame football star lands with Las Vegas Raiders

In the latest 2021 NFL Mock draft by the folks over at 247Sports, and Joal Ryan specifically, the former Irish star lands in a perfect spot with the Las Vegas Raiders. After a year that saw him bring home the Butkus Award, JOK goes into the draft as one of the top-two linebackers available, and he lands with the Silver and Black at No. 17 overall.

For years, the Raiders have struggled at the linebacker spot, and have utilized draft picks, and a load of free agency money on the position since Mike Mayock took over as general manager. Last year, they brought in Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton via free agency, and while Kwiatkoski had a good year, Littleton was lost in Paul Guenther’s scheme.

As Gus Bradley takes over for Guenther at defensive coordinator, he would like nothing more than to have a player like Owusu-Koramoah in the middle of his defense. The scheme, opportunity to start right away, and the fact that the Raiders are close to being a playoff team make this a perfect spot for JOK, who will likely be the second linebacker off the board this April.
