Heading into the 2021 college football season, Notre Dame football is going to have question marks on both sides of the ball. We have written about the amount of talent that is leaving, a group that has won a ton of games in South Bend, and went to two College Football Playoffs.

While those who need to be replaced will be missed, there are a bunch of players coming back that should lead this program to another solid season. One of those players is Kyle Hamilton, widely regarded as one of the best safeties in the country heading into next season, and someone who could hear their name called in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He will be expected to lead the Irish defense in 2021, and he is already starting to gain some national accolades as we enter the offseason.

Notre Dame football star Kyle Hamilton named early All-American

Chris Low from ESPN recently released his way-too-early 2021 All-American team, and the Notre Dame football team was represented with one selection. That selection was in fact Hamilton, who has dominated in his two seasons with the Irish and will be counted on to lead a secondary that is going to have some issues early on.

Hamilton has the skill and size to be a dominant player at the next level, and it did not take him long to get used to the college game either, hauling in four interceptions as a true freshman two years ago. He racked up 63 tackles last season, including 51 solo stops, and had six passes defended for the second straight season.

There is going to be a lot of doubters when it comes to the 2021 Notre Dame football team, but the bottom line is, they have talent on both sides of the ball, have an excellent recruiting class coming in, and elite coaches. Hamilton is going to have another great season this Fall, and the question really is whether or not it will be his last in South Bend.
