When it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft, the Notre Dame football team should be well-represented. They have arguably the second-best linebacker in the draft class, and multiple All-American offensive linemen, while other players could hear their names called later in the draft.

As the college football world turns its eyes to the Senior Bowl, the Irish will be well-represented there as well. Notre Dame football is sending seven players to the classic, including defensive end Adetonkunbo Ogundeji, who is fresh off a six-sack season for the Irish this past Fall.

A key on one of the best defenses in college football, Ogundeji improved each season with the Irish, and will now see what his draft stock is as he enters draft season. He is going to have plenty of opportunities to impress pro scouts, starting with the Senior Bowl, where he has already been a topic of conversation.

Scouts are raving about Notre Dame football star Ade Ogundeji

Matt Lombardo, who does a wonderful job for FanSided, spoke about the Senior Bowl in his latest piece. In it, he states that Jim Nagy, who runs the event said that one name to know before April’s draft is Notre Dame football star Adetokunbo Ogundeji.

In addition to Nagy, Lombardo spoke to one NFL executive who was high on Ade as well.

"“He’s a good defensive end,” an NFC personnel executive tells FanSided on the condition of anonymity because he isn’t authorized to speak publicly about the draft. “Can he be great? We’ll see.”"

The edge rusher spot in the NFL is a premium position, as those teams currently still playing can make a habit of getting after the quarterback. In Ogundeji, an NFL team would not only be getting a potential double-digit sack guy at the next level but someone who has earned every single snap he has gotten in South Bend.

Fellow Notre Dame defensive end Daelin Hayes will join Ogundeji in the Senior Bowl, so he will have his chance to shine as well. For now, it is Ade who is starting to get some real buzz as we kick off the draft season, so do not be surprised if he parlays this into being a Day 2 pick this year.
