Two Notre Dame football stars really helped themselves this week in Mobile

Daelin Hayes and Ade Ogundeji both went down to Mobile, Alabama to represent the Notre Dame football program at the defensive end position, and both have had their moments this week. However, Hayes has really shown out, and while he may not have been the biggest name in terms of the position group when he got to the Senior Bowl, he is certainly showing out.

Hayes has looked good against the best offensive linemen in the country this week, and as Jim McBride, a reporter for the Boston Globe put it, watching him against tight ends is just not fair.

On the other side of the line, Aaron Banks is playing his way into being a second-round pick this week, as he has shown incredible size, strength, and mobility. There are plenty of teams atop the second round who need help at the interior offensive line spots, and in Banks, they would not only be getting a tremendous player but one of the smarter offensive linemen in this draft class.

Remember, there will be no in-person workouts at the Scouting Combine this season, so the Senior Bowl is one of the few chances these players are going to get to impress pro scouts. For the six that worked out this week, it was a tremendous effort across the board, and for these three players, they really helped improve their draft status.
