The Notre Dame football team has some big shoes to fill this offseason, as they are losing a ton of talent to either graduation or the 2021 NFL Draft. This is a group that helped the program to ten or more wins in each of the last four seasons, as well as two appearances in the College Football Playoff.

As we look to turn the page from guys like Ian Book, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and Daelin Hayes, we do see that a new crop of talent is coming in for the 2021 season. The Irish brought in an outstanding recruiting class, loaded with guys who could have an instant impact as true freshmen this upcoming season.

Notre Dame football has built a tradition in recent years of being a legitimate contender for the College Football Playoff, but they are still trying to bridge the gap between them and the likes of Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama. New defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman is an elite recruiter, and an excellent coach, so maybe he will be the difference in this team being a true national title contender moving forward.

With that said, here are five true freshmen who could come in and make an instant impact on the field in 2021.
