Notre Dame Football: Best landing spots for top-10 Irish draft prospects
By Brad Weiss
Liam Eichenberg could land in the first round in April
- Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars
There are two members of the Notre Dame football program who could land in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and they are linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and left tackle Liam Eichenberg. An anchor for this Notre Dame offensive line, Eichenberg is one of the top left tackles in this draft class and is either going to land at the bottom of the first round or the beginning of the second.
There are teams at the bottom of the first round who need help at tackle, and those teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. The Green Bay Packers could also target Eichenberg, but they are likely going to go out and get a weapon in the passing game for Aaron Rodgers.
In the second round, the Jacksonville Jaguars will kick things off, and they could be in the market for a left tackle, this after getting Trevor Lawrence first overall, and another prospect later in round one. Eichenberg is going to be a great fit no matter where he lands and should have a long career as a starting left tackle at the NFL level.
