While Notre Dame football saw their 2021 recruiting class ranked at No. 9 overall by 247Sports, there are a lot of reasons to be excited. They bolstered position groups, brought in a possible QB1, and added a ton of weapons on both sides of the ball

The program is trending in the right direction, having played in two of the last three College Football Playoffs, but they have yet to win a game in the playoffs. In fact, they have struggled in big-time bowl games as of late, something the arrival of Marcus Freeman and his elite recruiting skills will hopefully end.

On Wednesday, they wrapped up their 2021 recruiting class when Logan Diggs announced he would be joining the Irish, picking Notre Dame football over LSU. Diggs and Audric Estime will join a running back group that is already loaded with talent in Kyren Williams and Chris Tyree, so the position is solid for years to come.

Notre Dame football brought in some elite athletes

The signing of Diggs was a big one, and he and Estime are two running backs who are going to do special things in South Bend. Also, Notre Dame added quality at the cornerback position, an area of need, as a few of the true freshmen will get a chance to start right away on Freeman’s defense.

In addition, the wide receiver room got a significant upgrade this recruiting season, as players like Lorenzo Styles Jr. and Deion Colzie will look to strengthen a group that lost Javon McKinley and Ben Skowronek this offseason. There are questions within that depth chart as well, so instant offense could be coming from true freshman there as well.

Outside of some elite skill players, the offensive line has two players in Blake Fisher and Rocco Spindler who could start in Year 1 as well. This Notre Dame football program lost some big-name players after their loss to Alabama, but the program has been restocked, and it is only going to get better moving forward.
