The Notre Dame Men’s Basketball team has been playing some fantastic basketball as of late, losing only twice in the past month. In that time, they have had some impressive victories, including going on the road against Duke the last time out, getting down early before winning inside Cameron Arena.

While Duke is not the superpower it usually is this season, it is still a monster win on the road in ACC play, something the Irish will take into their matchup with Miami (FL) this afternoon. Notre Dame Men’s Basketball returns to Purcell Pavilion trending in the right direction and should have a ton of confidence due to the fact they just beat Miami on the road a few weeks back.

The Irish have been playing much better on the defensive side of the floor, and are getting great play from their big men, as Nate Laszewski and Juwan Durham have been very efficient from the floor. Guys are coming off the bench and contributing, and as we inch closer to the ACC Tournament, the group seems to be gelling at the right time.

Notre Dame Men’s Basketball getting great play from Prentiss Hubb

Another big reason for the success of the Irish over the past month has been Prentiss Hubb, a guy who is getting it done by scoring, as well as getting other players involved. Hubb has been the ultimate distributor, and against Duke, he hit a clutch three-pointer down the stretch to help the Irish to their eighth victory of the season.

In that Duke win, Cormac Ryan showed why we were so excited when he transferred to the Notre Dame Men’s Basketball team, as he had a career-high 28 points. When this team is filling it up from the outside, they are very hard to stop, and the fact that the defense is stepping up makes them a hard out for any team they play.

With only one more ranked team on their schedule, a season-ending matchup against Florida State, the Irish have a legitimate opportunity to push their record over .500 and go into the ACC Tournament on a high. If they play the way they did against Duke, they have a real shot to make that happen.
