When it comes to churning out NFL offensive linemen, no school does it quite like the Notre Dame football program. With incredible talent up and down the offensive line last season, the Irish ran through a perfect regular season and made their second College Football Playoff appearance in the last three years.

Heading into 2021, the Irish will have to reload along the offensive line and will attempt to do so with some elite true freshmen in Rocco Spindler and Blake Fisher. Also, Jarrett Patterson returns to anchor the group, so there is definitely talent to spare entering the 2021 campaign.

In Bishop Gorman’s Jake Taylor, the Irish could be bringing in another in a long list of elite offensive linemen, as he recently listed Notre Dame football as a finalist for his services.

Notre Dame football in final three for Jake Taylor

On Monday, Taylor took to Twitter to discuss his top-3 schools, and the Notre Dame football program was listed. The final three for this incredible offensive line prospect are the Irish, Oklahoma, and Alabama, three schools he believes give him the best path to playing in the NFL, according to Brandon Drumm of OU Insider.

That could not be more true, as the Irish not only produce NFL offensive linemen yearly but when in the pros, they play the most snaps of any other school. In 2018, Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey were both picked in the top-10 picks of the NFL Draft, and Nelson is regarded as one of the best players in the league.

Taylor is a special talent and would join an already young stable of offensive lineman that will look to replace a great group that left after the 2020 season. An All-American, Taylor has committed to playing in the 2022 All-American Bowl, a capper to what has been an incredible high school career.

Taylor has the frame, standing at 6-foot-6, and size, weighing 275 pounds, that could make him a starting left tackle at the collegiate level. He is rated as one of the top-25 offensive tackles in the country by 247sports, and would be an excellent get for head coach Brian Kelly, Tommy Rees, and OL coach Jeff Quinn.
