Notre Dame football: Ideal NFL spot for Daelin Hayes, No. 1
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have a history of bringing in players from the Notre Dame football program, selecting Jerry Tillery in the first round back in 2019, and teammate Drue Tranquill three rounds later. Tranquill has already reached out to Hayes via Twitter to say the Chargers are coming for him, and he would be an excellent fit on an up-and-coming franchise.
The Chargers found their franchise quarterback last year, as Justin Herbert has certainly proven he can get it done at the NFL level. On defense, they have stars on all three levels, and adding Hayes to a defensive end group that includes Joey Bosa and Tillery would give them three young playmakers coming off the edge.
The Chargers are certainly a team to keep an eye on during this draft cycle, as they have some cap decisions to make and may have to say goodbye to Melvin Ingram, another solid pass rusher. Hayes makes a lot of sense for the Chargers, and he would find a soft landing with some teammates, and some other young defensive stars in La La Land.
