Notre Dame football long-term solution at quarterback

We shift our attention to the long-term, a spot where ESPN recently ranked the Notre Dame football program as having the 16th-best situation over the next three seasons. They have some young holdovers in Brendon Clark and Drew Pyne, with Pyne actually getting a few snaps in the College Football Playoff this past season.

However, it is incoming true freshman Tyler Buchner who is the future of this Notre Dame football program, and it will really be up to him to see how soon he takes over as the starter in South Bend. He enrolled early at the school, which is great for him to get his feet wet at the college level, but he also did not play this past season due to COVID-19 protocols in the state of California.

In Buchner, the Irish were able to bring in one of the best pocket passers in the country, and a guy who plays the game hard and can make plays with his arm, and his legs. He has all the potential to be a special player for the Irish, but in 2021, it remains to be seen whether or not he is the guy who takes over for Book.
