Notre Dame football: Ideal NFL spot for Ian Book, No. 2

New York Jets

When it comes to an organization that never seems to get it right, there may be no organization better than the New York Jets. For years, the Jets have swung and missed on draft picks, and in free agency, but hopefully, they will turn the corner now that Joe Douglas is their general manager, and Robert Salah is the head coach.

It remains to be seen what they plan to do at quarterback this upcoming season, but the Jets could either stay with Sam Darnold or pick a new franchise guy early in Round 1. If they do stick with Sam, they can build around him, including behind him on the depth chart, where Book could go to New York and be the No. 2 right away.

There is a lot to like about the Jets now that Saleh is at the helm, and you have to believe he is going to change the culture around immediately. Book is a player the Jets could get late in the 2021 NFL Draft, and groom behind whoever the starter is, and as we have seen every season, the quarterback spot for Gang Green is always a carousel.
