Notre Dame Football: 20 biggest wins of the Brian Kelly era

9. Notre Dame 31, Michigan 0 (2014)

Notre Dame 31 Michigan 0. That’s as pretty a score as they come, and it came right before a break in the series that gave Notre Dame years of bragging rights over Michigan.

Everett Golson had three touchdown passes, one to Will Fuller and two to Amir Carlisle in this game, as the offense was absolutely rolling throughout. On the other side, Davin Gardner of Michigan had three interceptions.

Oddly enough, Notre Dame’s rushing numbers weren’t great, only gaining 54 yards on the ground. In fact, Michigan outgained Notre Dame by nine yards on the game, but turnovers sunk any chance they had of beating the Irish.

The shutout was just an added benefit.

This was one of the most satisfying wins of the Brian Kelly era, and while the 2014 season eventually went off the rails, this is a great memory from that year.
