Notre Dame Football: 20 biggest wins of the Brian Kelly era

13. Notre Dame 31, LSU 28 (2014)

The first of two bowl games between Notre Dame and LSU came in the 2014 Music City Bowl. For Notre Dame, this would be the cap to a season that started with tons of hope. Unfortunately, after losing to Florida State due to an offensive pass interference call on a rub route, they would lose four of their last five.

Across the way, LSU had a frustrating season, as their offense was quickly being left in the dust as the game moved forward.

It would be a back and forth game from the start, with Malik Zaire and Leonard Fournette trading touchdowns throughout the first half. A Tarean Folston run midway through the second quarter gave Notre Dame a 21-14 halftime lead.

LSU took the lead in the third quarter on the back of two one-play drives, an 89-yard Fournette run, and a 75-yard Anthony Jennings catch. CJ Procise would tie the game back at 28 in the third quarter before a Kyle Brindza field goal as time expired would win it for the Irish.

It was a great way to salvage a disappointing season
