Notre Dame football: Ideal NFL spot for Ade Ogundeji, No. 1

Las Vegas Raiders

The No. 1 team that could land the services of Ade Ogundeji is the Las Vegas Raiders, a franchise that is starving for help along the edge on the defensive side of the ball. Outside of Maxx Crosby, the Raiders have no pass rush to speak of, as the second-year star out of Eastern Michigan had seven of the team’s 21 sacks this past season.

While Clelin Ferrell is a former No. 4 overall pick, he has not equated to being a real edge rusher at the NFL level, and Ogundeji could certainly come in and be a part of the rotation. Carl Nassib returns in 2021 for the Raiders, and he is a good depth piece as well, so it makes sense that the Raiders would take a look at Ogundeji, and possibly add him for more depth in Year 1.

There is no doubt that Ogundeji is going to hear his name called this year in the NFL Draft, as edge rushers are at a premium, and he has the perfect makeup to be a solid player in the league for many years. In fact, I would say that half of the league could use his services, and with a good Pro Day, he will likely be a mid-Day 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
