Notre Dame Football: Irish players remain teammates in latest 2021 NFL Mock

The Notre Dame football program had 11 players invited to this year’s Scouting Combine, the second-most of any program in college football. That means that the program will be well-represented when it comes time for the 2021 NFL Draft, that is if these guys can put on a good showing there, and at their Pro Day on March 31.

In a recent mock of only the first four rounds, seven members of the Notre Dame football program were selected, including two sets of teammates who will remain so at the next level.

Notre Dame football teammates again at the next level

In Chad Reuter’s latest four-round mock draft for the 2021 NFL Draft, he has a couple of Notre Dame football players remaining teammates at the next level. In fact, two sets of players join the same team, and both teams are in the same division, so there would sure to be a lot of Irish eyes on those matchups if his draft selections came true.

  • Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (Rnd. 1, Pick No. 32), and Daelin Hayes (Rnd. 4, Pick No. 95) land in Tampa Bay

After a strong Senior Bowl, we have seen Daelin Hayes become a rising star this draft cycle, and in this mock, he joins defensive teammate Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah with the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. JOK was the first Notre Dame football player taken in this mock draft, no shock there, and both players would be joining a defense that dominated during the team’s run to the Super Bowl.

  • Tommy Tremble (Rnd. 4 Comp., Pick No. 106), and Ade Ogundeji (Rnd. 4, Pick No. 134) go to the Bayou

Staying in the NFC South would be two members of the Notre Dame football program as well, as Tommy Tremble and Ade Ogundeji land with the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round. Tremble is a guy who, like Hayes, has been rocketing up draft boards, and some even believe he could be a third round pick before all is said and done.

Rounding out the seven players selected are Liam Eichenberg, the second Notre Dame football player off the board, being selected to kick off the second round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Aaron Banks joined Hayes in the third round, the third Irish player off the board at No. 86 overall, and Tommy Kraemer was picked right before Ogundeji in the fourth, going to Cleveland at pick No. 133.

The 2021 NFL Draft will kick off next month, and for the Notre Dame football program, it will be another display of just how much professional talent this university produces. Outside of the seven selected, there will be a few other names called on Day 3, making this an exciting day for fans of the Golden Domers.
