Notre Dame Football: Top-25 players of the Brian Kelly era

12. Te’von Coney, LB, 2015-18

  • 313 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 1 INT, 1 fumble recovery, 1 forced fumble

Te’Von Coney quietly had one of the best careers for a linebacker in Notre Dame history. This would culminate in the 2018 unbeaten regular season, which Coney was a key part of on the defensive side of the ball, contributing over 120 tackles in 2018 alone.

This was on the back of several double-digit tackle performances, including ten tackles and two sacks against Northwestern.

Coney is tenth all-time for tackles in Notre Dame history. Despite this, Coney never made it closer to a major award than the watchlist for several awards, like the Nagurski and Bednarik watch lists.

His time in the NFL was short, as he spent two seasons as a practice player for the Raiders, but is not currently with a team. However, he does seem to have his own brand of whiskey.
