Notre Dame Football: Top-25 players of the Brian Kelly era

11. Michael Floyd, WR, 2008-11

  • 271 receptions, 3,686 receiving yards, 37 TDs

Like Harrison Smith, Michael Floyd split time between the end of the Charlie Weis era and the start of the Brian Kelly era. Floyd’s whole career, but particularly his two seasons under Kelly, were phenomenal.

2010 and 2011 are first and third respectively all-time in terms of receptions by a wide receiver at Notre Dame, with 2011 seeing Floyd produce 100 receptions. He has five different games in 2010 and 2011 that appear on the top-10 list of single-game receptions at Notre Dame.

Floyd is first at Notre Dame in three key categories all-time, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He’s even tenth all-time in points at Notre Dame, a list that is normally reserved for kickers, due to the number of extra points and field goals they kick.

However, when you’re also third in career touchdowns it’s easier to make your way onto the list. After his phenomenal Notre Dame career, Floyd would go on to be a first-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals.
