Notre Dame Football: Top-25 players of the Brian Kelly era

19.  Liam Eichenberg, OT, 2017-20

Liam Eichenberg has become a fixture on the Notre Dame offensive line, playing tackle to the left of Aaron Banks. Like Banks, Eichenberg has been dominant at Notre Dame. Eichenberg was a starter on two unbeaten teams and another eleven team while playing a significant role on the 2017 Citrus Bowl-winning team.

Notre Dame fans remember Eichenberg for his toughness, as he played through an eye that was swollen shut this past season, but what has draft scouts excited about him is his footwork, particularly in the running game.

Eichenberg saw time in 2017, which was the Notre Dame offensive line to win the Joe Moore Award. The 2020 team would also be a finalist for the award. Eichenberg, individually, was a Walter Camp, AFCA, Sporting News, FWAA, The Athletic, and CBS All-American, first team.

The AP put Eichenberg on the second team. Meanwhile, he was also first-team All-ACC and was an Outland Trophy finalist. Eichenberg only gave up three sacks in his entire time in college, and none since 2018.
