Notre Dame Football: 5 must-add prospects to the 2022 recruiting class

WR C.J. Williams, Mater Dei, Santa Ana, CA

Next on the board is at the wideout position, and he is elite. Standing 6’2″ tall, weighing in at 190 lbs is Mater Dei standout, C.J. Williams. The 2022 Southern California native is as tough as they come.

Strong off the line of scrimmage, he uses his hands often to beat his opponent off the jump. He’s a deep ball threat at all times, obtains outstanding ball skills, and can line up anywhere on the field.

The young man also makes it clear that his education is a weighing factor as well. He holds nearly 50 offers and among those are Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Stanford, to name a few.

According to Mike Singer of rivals.com, the Irish may end up being the dark horse in this recruitment. Williams was planning a visit last spring and the pandemic soiled those plans, unfortunately.

The dead period was extended to May 31st, but if Williams can visit South Bend before deciding on a school, this is anyone’s game. The young wide receiver wants good football and good education. That’s the Notre Dame promise, is it not?
