The Notre Dame football program is sending 11 players to the virtual Scouting Combine, a testament to just how good this crop of players entering the 2021 NFL Draft are. Players like Liam Eichenberg, Aaron Banks, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah are popping up all over NFL mock drafts, and many expect the trio to go within the first three rounds.

In addition to those three, Tommy Tremble, Daelin Hayes, and Ade Ogundeji have all been mocked in the first four rounds, as was seen in Chad Reuter’s latest four-round mock draft over at NFL.com. In that mock, all six players were selected, as well as Tommy Kraemer, giving the Notre Dame football team three offensive linemen selected.

However, a fourth offensive lineman is not getting the kind of respect he deserves heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, and he is someone who could end up rocketing up draft boards before all is said and done.

Notre Dame football OL Robert Hainsey will be a solid pro

During the Senior Bowl festivities, Robert Hainsey was a player who really turned some heads, improving his draft stock significantly. He showed in practice that he can play on the interior of the offensive line, and at offensive tackle, where he was a standout player for the Irish over the last few seasons.

The Notre Dame Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2019, Hainsey was a two-time captain for the Irish and was named second-team All-ACC this past season. He can play multiple positions, has the size and strength to dominate at the next level, and has the kind of footwork that scouts drool over.

In fact, Jim Nagy from the Senior Bowl tweeted out that Hainsey dominated during the Senior Bowl, and will be a ten-year pro.

Notre Dame football is considered “Offensive Line U,” and rightfully so, as former members of the Irish logged the most snaps at the NFL level this past season. For Hainsey, he has the versatility to help every team in the NFL, and him falling past the fourth round would be an absolute shock this year.
