Is Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah the first defensive player off the board?

If there is one sure thing in terms of this Notre Dame football team heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, it is the fact that Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is going to land in the first round. Looking around, he has been mocked everywhere from the bottom of the first round to the top-10, so a good Pro Day and Combine will go a long way in determining where his draft status finishes out.

The real question surrounding the JOKer is whether or not he will be the first defensive player off the board. Many experts feel he has passed Micah Parsons as the top linebacker in this draft class, and based on his skill set, he is a guy who is going to be a three-down backer at the next level, dominating in coverage as well.

Of course, there are some solid cornerbacks in this draft class in Patrick Surtain II and Caleb Farley, two players who continuously get mocked inside the top-15 of the 2021 NFL Draft. For Owusu-Koramoah, he is one of the more NFL-ready defensive players in this draft class and could end up being the first defensive player off the board this April.
