The Notre Dame Basketball program will look to advance in the Men’s ACC Tournament on Wednesday night, and here are 3 keys to pulling off the upset.

The Notre Dame Basketball program got a huge win to close out their regular season, playing host to No. 11 Florida State and beating them handily. That led them into the ACC Tournament with some momentum, but early on, it looked like the Wake Forest Demon Deacons were going to come away with the upset.

Luckily, the Irish went on a 17-2 run to close out the game, and a bomb from Trey Wertz proved to be the difference. On Wednesday night, they take on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in second-round action, and here are three keys to them pulling out an upset of their own.

Notre Dame Basketball must stay hot from three

If there is one way the Notre Dame Basketball team can surely get the advantage against North Carolina, it will be by staying hot from the three-point line. While the Irish have plenty of players who can fill it up from beyond the arc, the Tar Heels struggle mightily at protecting against it, and that will certainly play to Notre Dame’s strength in this one.

Looking at the Irish’s roster, they can attack with multiple players from three, including Nate Laszewski, who went absolutely nuts in the team’s one-point loss to North Carolina earlier this season. If he gets it going, as well as guys like Cormac Ryan, Prentiss Hubb, Trey Wertz, and Dane Goodwin, it could prove to be an equalizer against a more talented North Carolina squad.
