Notre Dame Basketball must stay in the game early

Heading into their matchup against Wake Forest, one of the keys to the game we felt was them getting out to an early lead, and putting the Demon Deacons. Wake had been terrible to start games all season long, and the thought was that if the Irish could get it going early, then the Demon Deacons would not have enough to come back.

Well, the opposite proved to be true, as Wake got out to a commanding lead against this Notre Dame Basketball team, and nearly rode it all the way to an upset. On Wednesday, the Irish cannot afford to allow that to happen again, as the Tar Heels are a much more talented team than Wake Forest, and a rally, in the end, would not likely be in the cards again.

The problem here is, the Tar Heels are great at getting out to an early lead, so the first five or so minutes of this game are going to be crucial. If the Irish can hang tough early on, and weather a likely early storm by North Carolina, they should be able to get into their offense, working the ball around the perimeter and getting some open looks from three. If not, it could be anarchy early.
