Notre Dame Football WR Javon McKinley

This past season, the Notre Dame Football team needed someone to step up at the wide receiver position, and Javon McKinley did that and more. Putting together his best season in South Bend, McKinley turned himself into a legitimate draft prospect and was invited to the East-West Shrine Game, which was canceled.

Like Book, McKinley is a player who was invited to this year’s Combine, and with a good showing, he should get himself into the conversation of being a legitimate Day 3 NFL Draft pick. This is a draft class that is loaded with talent at wide receiver, but McKinley is a guy who played in some high-level games during his time at Notre Dame and brings a wealth of experience to the position.

Remember, this is a player who came to the Notre Dame Football program as the highest-rated wide receiver ever brought in by Brian Kelly, and while it took until his fifth season to make a real impact, he could be peaking at the right time. A solid Pro Day is going to lock him into at least being an undrafted free agent, but he should have his eyes set on putting together some incredible numbers because a bad day will lead to him not being selected in the draft.
