The Notre Dame Football team has a special player in running back Kyren Williams, who was recently snubbed from a list of the top back returning in 2021.

When it comes to the Notre Dame Football team, there are a lot of questions as they head towards the 2021 college football season. They are replacing a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, including a few All-Americans, and multiple NFL Draft picks.

However, looking at this roster, there are a few position groups that should be fine heading into next season, and running back is certainly one of them. Kyren Williams burst onto the scene with a 1,000-yard season as a redshirt freshman this past season, and entering his second season as the feature back, more of that should be in store.

Though Williams proved just how explosive he could be weekly last season, it has not been enough to warrant him popping up on a few lists of those running backs returning in 2021. In fact, one outlet left him out of their top-10.

In their recent ranking of the top returning running backs in college football, Pro Football Focus listed ten players who should dominate the college football landscape next season. Led by Auburn’s Tank Bigsby, the list is no doubt comprised of the talented back, some of whom could be in the Heisman Trophy picture in 2021.

However, Williams was left out of the list of players, and that is just a big miss by them. Not only did Williams get the job done on the ground, rushing for over 1,000 yards, but he also was a major factor in the passing game, racking up over 300 yards through the air as well.

Also, Williams is an elite blocker, someone who is going to be the whole package at the next level.

In 2021, Williams will lead a group of backs with a chance to be really special, as he and Chris Tyree return, and true freshman Logan Diggs and Audric Estime were huge gets for the program. As they make a move from quarterback Ian Book, leaning on Williams will be paramount, and you have to believe he is going to be up for the challenge.
