Notre Dame Football: 3 Freshman who will make an instant impact in 2021

OLB Prince Kollie

Why Prince Kollie? The 6’1”, 210 lbs athlete from Tennessee has the perfect build to be the new era linebacker that we see in modern defenses. He can play the run, but is also dynamic in coverage and can use his range to be a force at the next level. Coming to Notre Dame, he is in a perfect situation to succeed right away.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is NFL Draft bound, and he’s very likely a first-round pick. This past season, he was consensus All American and the Butkus Award winner, capping his career by establishing himself as one of the best in college football.

That’s a gaping hole that needs to be filled at the Rover position, which is now most likely going to be called the Viper position in Marcus Freeman’s defense.

How do you replace that hole? How about with the 2021 high school Butkus Award winner? Kollie looks like a JOK 2.0 to me when I watch the film, and I’m confident he can show that to Irish fans. With a lot of question marks at the linebacker position, Kollie is going to get an immediate opportunity, and playing for a linebacker genius like Freeman, he should have quite a career in South Bend.
