Notre Dame Football: 2021 spring practices to start on Saturday
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame Football program will get their spring practices started on Saturday, as we start to get a real look at a tremendous incoming freshman class.
We are getting ever so close to the start of spring practice, as it was announced on Wednesday that the Notre Dame Football team will kick things off on Saturday. For this squad, there are a lot of question marks, but there is also a lot to be excited about, as they look to start a new era after the departure of quarterback Ian Book.
With Book under center, the Irish won a ton of games, and it will be up to Jack Coan to take the helm of the Notre Dame Football team in 2021. Of course, the big name at the position group is Tyler Buchner, but after sitting out this past season due to COVID restrictions in California, he is going to need some time before he can run out there in an FBS game.
On Saturday, it all starts.
Notre Dame Football poised for another ten-win season
Still dealing with an ankle injury, we are not going to see Kyle Hamilton this spring, but on that side of the ball, it will be interesting to see what new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman brings to the table. Of all the personnel and players this program brought in this offseason, Freeman may be the most important, as we have already seen what he can do on the recruiting trail.
Notre Dame Football has won at least ten games in each of the last four seasons and has been to two of the last three College Football Playoffs, so there is a lot of expectations building. Also, the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes seem loaded already, with the 2022 group rated No. 2 in the country.
For now, let us sit back and enjoy the fact that Notre Dame Football is returning this Saturday, even if it is only spring practices.
