Notre Dame Football star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah could be the first linebacker off the board, but some feel it will be Penn State’s Micah Parsons.

The Notre Dame Football team had an absolute star at the linebacker position this past season, as Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah proved to be one of the best in the country. Looking ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft, he is the member of this Irish football program that is mocked in the first round the most, and rightfully so.

When it comes to the linebacker position in this draft class, JOK is by far one of the top-two coming out this season. The other, Penn State star linebacker Micah Parsons, sat out the 2020 college football season due to COVID-19, but that will have no impact on his draft status heading into April’s first round.

The real question is which player will be the first linebacker selected, as mock drafts across the country are undecided on who it will be.

Looking across multiple mock drafts, Owusu-Koramoah is an interesting subject. There was one mock recently that had him falling outside of the first round, and that same week, there was one that had him going in the top-10. Based on his physical attributes, his tape, and his Football IQ, whoever gets JOK is getting a star in waiting, and I do not believe he falls outside of the first round.

In fact, I like JOK to go in the top-20, at least, and I do feel he will be the better pro than Parsons, thanks to his ability to cover. Remember, JOK is an extremely versatile player, can play in the box, on the outside, or even safety if need be.

Owusu-Koramoah showed just how ripped and athletic he was at the Pro Day, and he has more than enough tape to warrant him being the first linebacker off the board. Parsons proved to be a freak of an athlete as well, so it is anybody’s guess which one will be the first selected come April.
