The Notre Dame Football program is getting a special talent in Aiden Gobaira, who was named Defensive Player of the Year, and first-team All-District.

It is no big secret that the Notre Dame Football program is losing a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball, including a possible first-round pick in Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. In addition to JOK, the Irish are also losing two fantastic edge rushers in Adetonkunbo Ogundeji and Daelin Hayes, two players who are also expected to be selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

However, when you are the Notre Dame Football program, you reload at positions, and they will do so at defensive end with a special player from Chantilly, Virginia. Aiden Gobaira has everything you look for in a possible star coming off the edge and recently was honored as he finishes out his high school career.

That is some serious hardware for Gobaira, who is one of the top players in the state of Virginia, and a top-25 defensive end by 247sports.com.

The Irish have veterans coming back along the defensive line, but outside of Jason Onye, they are not bringing in any defensive ends via their 2021 recruiting class. However, in 2022, not only will Gobaira arrive, but also Tyson Ford, who many consider the crown jewel of this upcoming recruiting class, one that is currently rated as the No. 4 class in the country.

Notre Dame Football will need a big season from Isaiah Foskey this upcoming year, and veterans in the middle like Kurt Hinish and Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa will have to be the leaders upfront in the interior. In 2022, the defensive end position will be getting incredible assets in both Gobaira and Ford, and defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman will certainly put them in a position to succeed right away.
