The Notre Dame Football program will be well-represented in this year’s NFL Draft, and here are some of the biggest Notre Dame draft steals of all time.

There are overlooked players in every single draft class, even when they come from the Notre Dame Football program. There have always been guys who are overlooked and passed over, and there will be this year as well. It’s the reality of scouting being an imprecise and often a failing form of science.

Players are misjudged.

Plenty of overlooked players go on to do great things, including a significant number of Notre Dame Football players who were drafted low for one reason or another. So, let’s break down a few of those massively overlooked players.

There are just a few basic rules to make this list. The first is that you had to play for Notre Dame, obviously. The second is that you have to be drafted in the third round or later. I could hear an argument for Jaylon Smith in the second round, but it’s hard to say the second round is overlooking a player in the long term.

You do also need to have been drafted. In other words, no undrafted players are going to be considered. Finally, they have to have had a great NFL career where they received some kind of recognition, like multiple Pro Bowl appearances.
