Notre Dame Football wideout Ben Skowronek is not getting a ton of draft buzz, but one media outlet feels he could be a draft gem on Day 3.

Last season, the Notre Dame Football program saw both Javon McKinley and Ben Skowronek step up at the wide receiver position. Both players played key roles in the Irish getting back to the College Football Playoff, and both could end up being steals when it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Skowronek had a foot issue at the Senior Bowl, and that affected both that and his Pro Day, which could hurt his draft status.

One media outlet, Raising Zona, a team-specific site run by FanSided that focuses on the Arizona Cardinals, feels that Skowronek could be a draft gem. In his piece, Aarron Van Buren speaks to the fact that Skowronek is not getting a lot of attention heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, and in Arizona, he would be a perfect depth guy for their wide receiver group.

Van Buren talks about Skowronek’s size, and productivity, and how he could be a player that comes in and replaces Andy Isabella. We only got to see Skowronek play one season for the Irish, but he was a huge part of their offense and has the skill set to be a real player at the next level.

Notre Dame Football could see ten players selected

It should be a banner year for the Notre Dame Football program in terms of the 2021 NFL Draft, as they could see as many as ten players selected across the three-day event. Guys like Skowronek could certainly go undrafted, but you never know what each team’s draft board looks like, and there are always shocking selections every season.

It has been an interesting trip to this point for Skowronek, and it would be outstanding to see him finish out his collegiate journey by being selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. Sure, it may be on Day 3, but as he has shown his whole career, if he can just get his foot in the door, and get a chance, good things usually happen for him.
