Notre Dame football: Top-10 draft picks of the Brian Kelly era

7. Will Fuller

  • Houston Texans, 2016: Round 1, Pick 21

Will Fuller is moving on from Houston, as the Texans are looking at a roster reset. After all, if DeAndre Hopkins didn’t survive the past couple of seasons in Houston, Fuller was never going to. Still, during his time in Houston, Fuller was an excellent complement to Hopkins, who took advantage of teams paying more attention to the opposite side of the field.

If there was a knock on Fuller’s time in Houston, he did have some injury issues.

When healthy, though, Fuller was one of the best second options in all of football. Now, he’ll have a chance to help Miami rebuild and let Tua Tagovailoa come into his own as an NFL quarterback like Deshaun Watson did in Houston. The AFC East is opening up too, which means he’ll have a shot at playoff success shortly.

In his career, Fuller has 209 receptions, 3,110 receiving yards, and 24 receiving touchdowns in five seasons, but he’s never played all 16 games in a season. If he can stay healthy, there is no reason why he is not a 1,000-yard wideout every year.
