Notre Dame Football: Tyson Ford joining the recruiting efforts
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame Football program has a special talent coming in with Tyson Ford, who is helping bring more talent along with him.
The Notre Dame Football program is losing a bunch of talent this offseason, as the group of men leaving have certainly left their mark on the program. During their time, there was a whole lot of winning, and in the process, the Irish went to two of the last three College Football Playoffs.
As they enter life without that group, a collection of players who could see as many as ten drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, there is a lot of talent coming in. The 2021 class is a special one, and looking ahead, the Irish’s 2022 and 2023 classes could be even better.
One of the cornerstones of the Notre Dame Football 2022 recruiting class is Tyson Ford, a top-10 defensive end in the country, and one who should have an outstanding career in South Bend. On Friday, Ford joined the Irish on the recruiting trail, shouting out to a current recruit via Twitter.

The recruit is D.J. Wesolak, a four-star defensive end from Booneville, Missouri. Wesolak is rated as the tenth-best player in the state of Missouri, and a top-200 player in the country, and would be another tremendous talent added to this Notre Dame Football 2022 recruiting class.
Notre Dame Football 2022 class could be stacked
As it stands, the Notre Dame Football program has the No. 4-ranked recruiting class for the 2022 cycle, a group of kids who could help bridge the gap between the Irish and programs like Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson. The addition of Marcus Freeman has been paying off in a big way, as he is not only an elite defensive coordinator but also one of the best recruiters in the country.
To date, the Irish have gotten commitments from eight four-star prospects, including Ford, as they look to continue to stockpile talent on both sides of the ball. They have added an elite quarterback, running back, offensive linemen, and defensive players, including Joshua Burnham, the No. 114-ranked player in America.
One look at Ford’s Twitter account is to see a player who is not only excited to join this program, but also a player who already bleeds Green. If he can help the Irish add some more talent of his caliber, including Wesolak, this program, and the staff will take it.
