Notre Dame football: Full 7-round 2021 Mock sees nine Irish selected
Day 3
The final day of the 2021 NFL Draft encompasses the last four rounds, and in Wilson’s draft, five more members of this Notre Dame Football team are selected, including the all-time winningest quarterback in program history.
Round 4, Pick No. 111, Ade Ogundeji: Cincinnati Bengals
The run on Notre Dame Football players on Day 3 begins with the Cincinnati Bengals, who select a dominant edge rusher in Ade Ogundeji. He proved at the Senior Bowl that he can get around the best offensive linemen in this draft class, and the Bengals could certainly use more playmakers on defense.
Round 4, Pick No. 127, Robert Hainsey, Indianapolis Colts
16 picks later, the Indianapolis Colts select Robert Hainsey, who joins former Notre Dame football star Quenton Nelson upfront protecting Carson Wentz. The Colts are definitely a playoff-caliber team heading into 2021, but they need help along the offensive line, so Hainsey should definitely get a chance to start right away.
Round 6, Pick No. 199, Ian Book: Minnesota Vikings
Pick No. 199 was made famous by Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and with pick No. 199 in this draft, the all-time winningest quarterback in Notre Dame history comes off the board. Ian Book has done a great job raising his draft status this draft cycle, and it would be great to see him selected on Day 3.
Round 6, Pick No. 216, Daelin Hayes: Pittsburgh Steelers
Joining teammate Liam Eichenberg as a 2021 draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers is Daelin Hayes, who would be joining a talented young defense in the Steel City. Hayes is another guy who dominated during the Senior Bowl, and I believe he could be gone a lot earlier than pick No. 216.
Round 6, Pick No. 228, Tommy Kraemer: Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have no problems taking players from the Notre Dame football program, and at pick No. 228, they bring in a dominant offensive guard. Tommy Kraemer is one of the more NFL-ready offensive guards in this draft class, and he would have plenty of Irish teammates playing in the Windy City.
As you can see, this has the possibility of being a very special 2021 NFL Draft for this Notre Dame Football program, and you could even see a couple more players selected before all is said and done. Javon McKinley, Nick McCloud, and Ben Skowronek are just a few of those who could sneak in on Day 3, but if they are not selected, they will likely get their shot as undrafted free agents.
