Notre Dame Football: 3-star recruits who had big impacts under Brian Kelly

2017: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

The Notre Dame football program has been blessed to have Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on their defense the last few seasons, as he has become one of the best players in the country. Anytime a player can go from a three-star prospect to one of the best linebackers in college football it is a win, and it is a testament to what Clark Lea was able to do with him during his time in South Bend.

JOK had to battle through injuries during the early part of his Notre Dame career but became a starter during his junior season in 2019, and never looked back. After a strong 2019 campaign, JOK took the college football landscape by storm, becoming a unanimous All-American, winning the Butkus Award, and being named the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year.

All told, JOK became an absolute monster as a senior, and his play on the field has led to him being a possible top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Irish are certainly going to miss his leadership in 2021, but one NFL team is getting the complete package at the linebacker position next Thursday in the first round.
