Notre Dame Football: 2021 NFL Draft predictions from the SlaptheSign.com staff

Robert Hainsey (OL)

Connor McJunkin: Round 5, Pick 158, Houston Texans

The Houston Texans need a lot of help on the offensive line and Robert Hainsey provides the versatility to play multiple positions. If he’s still available here it would be a steal for Houston, who needs all the OL improvements they can get after giving up 49 sacks in 2020.

Jack Leniart: Round 4, Pick 111, Cincinnati Bengals

Hainsey offers a versatility that is quite rare to find in an offensive lineman prospect. He could play all five positions along the offensive line, but his best fit in the NFL will be at guard or center. Cincinnati believes they have found their franchise quarterback, and the next step for the Bengals is to add outside weapons and bolster their offensive line. I think they will select a receiver in one of the first three rounds, and then look for a value pick on the offensive line in the middle rounds.

Andrew Hall: Round 5

Hainsey might end having the best professional career of all of the Notre Dame players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. He is not a perfect fit at any one position currently, however, I think he will stick at the NFL level at either guard or tackle.

Brad Weiss: Round 5, Pick No. 182, Kansas City Chiefs

The most important thing for the Kansas City Chiefs is protecting Patrick Mahomes, as we saw that even with his magical arm, the team struggled in the Super Bowl as he ran for his life. They have revamped the offensive line in a big way this offseason, and in Hainsey, they get a long-term play who can play up and down the line.
