Notre Dame Football: Three 2022 targets that could commit next

Holden Staes, TE, Westminster School

If I had to choose one prospect that I would put money on to be the next Notre Dame commit, it would be Holden Staes. Quite frankly, I am surprised he has not given his verbal pledge to the Irish yet, as he is a perfect fit for this program, adding to a talented group at the tight end position.

The Georgia standout was previously a Penn State commit who, after de-committing, has been favorited to land with the Irish for quite some time. He has a very good relationship with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, as well as tight ends coach John McNulty, and the staff is talking to him on a daily/weekly basis.

With the recent de-committment of TE Jack Nickel, there is clearly an expectation that the tight end position void will be filled for this class. This should only speed this recruitment up and I would not be surprised if Staes makes his decision very shortly.
