Notre Dame Football star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was slated to be a first-round pick, but he fell into the second round, landing at No. 52.

The Notre Dame Football team went into the 2021 NFL Draft with plenty of question marks, as we did not know just how many players would be selected. The one thing we were all pretty certain about was that Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah would be the first member of the Irish off the board, a possible top-10 pick.

However, as the first round continued on Thursday night, JOK did not hear his name called, and when all was said and done, he was left out of the first 32 picks. Going into Day 2, it was another foregone conclusion that he would be one of the first players off the board, but as the second round continued to tick along, he was nowhere to be found.

Well, all the suspense ended at pick No. 52, as JOK finally heard his name called.

It was the Cleveland Browns who picked JOK, getting a player that I believe is one of the more versatile defensive players in this draft class. Though he is considered a “tweener,” he can play all over the field, playing linebacker, coming up along the edge, and even moving to the safety position if need be.

He slides into a perfect situation with the Browns, as they certainly need a player of JOK’s caliber. This is a team that is looking to get better on the defensive side of the ball, and JOK is a guy who can certainly get them there. This is a young defense that was lacking talent at linebacker, so JOK will have a chance to start right away.

We continue to monitor the 2021 NFL Draft, as there are still plenty of Notre Dame Football players who should still come off the board, even on Friday night. This is a special group of players that have declared for the draft this season, and there should be at least eight selected before all is said and done.
