Jack Coan led Wisconsin to a Big Ten title game two years ago, but now that he is with the Notre Dame Football team, is he a top-50 quarterback?

Notre Dame Football had the luxury of having Ian Book as their quarterback the last few seasons, and all he did is become the all-time winningest signal-caller in program history. In 2021, with Book a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Book will be playing for the New Orleans Saints, while handing the job in South Bend off to, likely, Jack Coan.

Is Notre Dame Football QB Jack Coan a top-50 QB in 2021?

Looking around Twitter, “Big Game Boomer” has been doing a lot of ranking, and recently, he put together a list of the top-50 signal-callers in college football. Looking at the list, there was one very familiar name, and that was Phil Jurkovec, who he ranked as the No. 15 quarterback in college football this season.

However, he is currently playing for Boston College, and the Notre Dame Football team’s quarterback was nowhere to be found. Jack Coan was ranked outside of the top-50 in these rankings, and you have to think that Big Game Boomer got it wrong.

After looking at his tape from his days at Wisconsin, I believe that Coan is definitely a top-50 quarterback in the country. He is the ultimate game manager, does not make many mistakes, and is outstanding in terms of relying on his playmakers.

At Wisconsin, he had Jonathan Taylor, and with the Irish, he will have 1,000-yard rusher Kyren Williams in the backfield. Also, he has an elite tight end in Michael Mayer, as well as a group of wideouts who are looking to make a name for themselves in 2021.

Coan is actually still battling it out with Drew Pyne for the starting job as we head into the summer months, and Tyler Buchner looked very good in the Blue-Gold Game. Still, this is Coan’s job to lose, and if he is the actual starter come this Fall, there is no way that 49 quarterbacks at the FBS level are better than him.

If that is the case, the Irish are in trouble.
