On Wednesday, it was announced that Notre Dame Football will play their home games in front of a full capacity crowd, giving them an added advantage.

Wednesday brought some great news for the Notre Dame Football community, as it was announced that Notre Dame Stadium would be at full capacity this Fall. One of the greatest venues in all sports, Notre Dame Stadium is the ultimate home-field advantage for the Irish, and to be able to play in front of the fans has to have the 2021 team fired up.

In addition to the game being at full capacity at kickoff, tailgating can also resume, making the 2021 college football season feel a lot more normal. Last season, the Irish ran through their regular-season slate undefeated but had to play home games in front of no fans, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since vaccines became available, Notre Dame has made it a point to get their student body vaccinated, and that has helped drive the current cases into the ground. That likely helped the school decide that it was time to let the fans back in, which is an exciting announcement, to say the least.

Notre Dame Football to play in front of packed crowds in 2021

With the news of the stadium being at full capacity, the Irish have to be thinking this is going to be another solid campaign this Fall. Coming off their second College Football Playoff appearance in the last three seasons, Brian Kelly and company do have a lot of new faces in the starting lineup, especially after seeing nine players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Still, this is Notre Dame, and they have plenty of guys on the roster still who could be in for an All-American season in 2021. Players like Kyle Hamilton, Kyren Williams, and Michael Mayer are some of the best in the country at their positions and will be crucial in this team making another playoff run.

The first game to be played at full capacity inside Notre Dame Stadium will come early on, as the Toledo Rockets come to South Bend on September 11. That is a game the Irish should certainly be favored in, and you can be sure the fans are going to be going crazy after having to watch the 2020 season from their televisions.
