The Notre Dame Baseball team will host a regional this year, and based on their bracket, they should win it and advance to the Super Regional.

This past weekend, the Notre Dame Baseball team lost in the finale of Pool A of the 2021 ACC Baseball Tournament. The No. 1 overall seed in the conference, the Irish were beaten badly by the University of Virginia, ending their chance to take home the regular season, and tournament championship.

However, as we stated at the time, the Irish were still going to make the College Baseball Tournament, and would in fact be one of the 16 teams to host a regional this season. One of the best teams in the country all season long, Notre Dame Baseball has the arms and bats to go a long way this season and has been one of the bigger surprises in 2021.

On Monday, they were announced as one of the 16 teams to host a region, and despite some talented teams joining them in South Bend, they should have no problem advancing.

Notre Dame Baseball will advance to Super Regional

The region is set up with Notre Dame at No. 1, obviously, and Central Michigan as the No. 4 team. UConn comes in as the No. 2 seed in the four-team bracket, with the University of Michigan as the No. 3. Notre Dame and Michigan have a solid hatred across all sports, so their landing in the bracket brings more intrigue to the region.

UConn comes in as the No. 2 seed thanks to their win in the Big East Tournament, while Michigan was an at-large bid. Central Michigan won the MAC title this season and will draw the Irish in Game 1 on Friday to kick off the region.

Expected to finish near the bottom of the ACC heading into the 2021 college baseball season, the Irish have been one of the more consistent teams in the country, winning series after series. They will have to string together a good weekend to come out of this region alive, and if they do so, they could be staying home for the Super Regional as well.
